№ 01 — Our story
Crutchfield Farms began with two newlyweds, a piece of Carolina land, and a plan. It's still growing.
Where it started
Cheryl and Kevin started Crutchfield Farms as a dream when they first married, over forty-two years ago. What began as a handful of acres and a few head of cattle is today a thriving family business in the heart of Midland, North Carolina — a working cattle operation specializing in purebred Santa Gertrudis.
Our cattle are raised on lush grass pastures and fed all-natural feed — never antibiotics, never added hormones. We sell locally raised beef to the public as whole, half, and quarter animals, with farm pickup by appointment and nationwide shipping.
“We strive to be good stewards of the land, with the hope of passing this family business on for generations to come.”— Kevin & Cheryl Crutchfield
Four decades, one farm
Kevin and Cheryl marry and buy their first land in Midland — the dream of a family farm takes root.
The herd grows. The farm commits to purebred Santa Gertrudis for their hardiness in Carolina heat and outstanding beef.
Crutchfield Farms begins selling beef direct to local families — whole and half animals, cut to order.
A thriving family operation: all-natural beef, breeding stock, and the next generation of Crutchfields growing up on the same pastures.
What we believe
No antibiotics. No added hormones. Open grass pasture and all-natural feed — nothing else.
Healthy pastures make healthy cattle. We manage our land so it's better every year than we found it.
Three generations work and play on this farm. We raise beef we're proud to put on our own table — and yours.
