№ 02 — Our story

A dream, forty‑two years in the making

Kevin and Cheryl started Crutchfield Farms as newlyweds with a piece of land and a plan. Four decades on, it's a working Santa Gertrudis operation in the heart of Midland — still family-run, still raising cattle the slow, honest way.

“We strive to be good stewards of this land, with the hope of passing it on for generations to come.”— Kevin & Cheryl Crutchfield

How does live-weight pricing work?

You pay a set price per pound of the animal's live weight, multiplied by your share. After processing we confirm the exact total from the actual weights — you only ever pay for what the animal really weighed.

How much freezer space do I need?

Allow roughly one cubic foot per 20–25 lbs of packaged beef. A quarter fits most standard freezers; for a half or whole, a chest freezer is your friend.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes — beef ships nationwide, flash-frozen and insulated. Local customers around Charlotte can pick up at the farm by appointment.
